What is a Fusible Link?
A fusible link is a short piece (3-5″ long) of insulated low-voltage wire, attached to your vehicle or tractor wiring harness. The piece of Fusible Link should be 4 sizes smaller (or 2 AWG sizes smaller) than powerfeed wire. It is designed to protect the wire harness in applications in an current overload situation. The conductor within the link melts, while the flame and spark only affect that short piece of fusible link and not your entire wiring harness.
